Manny Pacquiao urged to take on Conor McGregor in retirement fight

Manny Pacquiao's legion of fans want him to take on UFC star Conor McGregor in retirement fight. That is the view of the Filipino's adviser Jayke Joson. He expects the eight-division world champion to announce his plans shortly. Pacquiao last fought in July 2019 when he outpointed Keith Thurman but has seen his planned return disrupted by the coronavirus crisis. According to Joson, there is only one opponent which interests Pacquiao's fans in his homeland. "I have talked to nine out of ten Filipinos and they really like UFC star Conor McGregor as the senator’s last opponent. This is before he leaves professional boxing for good," he told The Manila Standard. "I think we will know about Sen. Pacquiao’s plans in boxing as soon as the COVID-19 virus crisis is over. "For the senator, this is not the time for a boxing fight. It’s really up to the senator when he will retire from boxing but many Filipinos want our senator to take on McGregor because that will be a great fight." McGregor made his professional boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather in 2018 but was stopped in the 10th round. Source: The Mirror
