Alan Smith says Bernd Leno will be ‘desperate to leave’ Arsenal after becoming the club’s No.2.
The Gunners legend Alan Smit believes the talented goalkeeper will not be short of options if he departs the Emirates.
Leno helped his team to win 2-0 over Leeds on Tuesday night sending them into the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup with a clean sheet.
As a result Smith is predicting the 29-year-old to push for a move during the winter transfer window.
"He’ll be down,’ said Smith.
"He’ll be desperate to leave the club."He is an experienced keeper. He won’t want to be a number two for any longer than he needs to be.
"But he can’t go knocking on the manager’s door because Ramsdale has done so well.
"He is a big personality and he has pulled off some great saves.
"For Bernd Leno, there will be plenty of clubs after him, if he becomes a man available."
The German's current contract will Arsenal is valid until 2023.
