Alan Pardew urges Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino “to make a statement” with out-of-form player

Alan Pardew has urged Mauricio Pochettino to “make a statement” with the out-of-form Christian Eriksen as he showed another poor performance in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Everton. Eriksen failed to impress again as he was replaced very late in the match. In an interview with Bein Sports, former Premier League manager Alan Pardew said: “You (Pochettino) have to say, he doesn't look like anywhere near the form he was in. Now that's as polite as I can put that. And that would be a worry for me if I was on that bench, knowing that his contracts out at the end of the season. Sometimes you do need to make a statement as a manager and today (against Everton) might be a statement to say 'come off, I'm not accepting that'.” The 27-year-old Eriksen’s contract expires next summer, although there are speculations he can leave Spurs in January and currently is heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.
