Liverpool's senior midfielder Thiago Alcantara is set to join the three players that have left Anfield as free agents towards the end of the season.
As the 32-year-old approaches the latter stages of his career and Liverpool's midfield is undergoing a rebuilding process under Jurgen Klopp, it seems unlikely that the Spanish midfielder will be offered an improved contract beyond his current deal, which is set to expire next summer.
The Reds, have recently bid farewell to midfielders James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on free transfers. In return, Klopp's side has already acquired their main target Alexis Mac-Allister from Brighton and are eyeing some other midfielders to bring to the squad.
Besides the Premier League, the Spaniard has spent some time of his career in the Bundesliga, playing for Bayern Munich and in La Liga, playing for Barcelona. During his stay at Merseyside, Alcantara, signed for £22m, has provided six assist and scored two goals in a total of 97 appearances across all competitions.
