Would the Bulls and Jordan have won the 7th championship in 1998? Stephen A. gives his opinion

Could the Chicago Bulls win the NBA championship in the 1998/99 season if Jordan, Pippen, Kerr, Rodman and Jackson would have stayed?  ESPN expert Stephen A. Smith believes they were able to do that, considering the lockout short season in 1999.  “I think they would have won the next year. I think they could have gotten the seventh title. The reason I believe the 7th was possible is, if you remember, the Spurs beat the Knicks in the lockout short season. I think that the Chicago Bulls could have beaten that team.” Stephen A. said during ESPN’s Get Up He added: “I don’t believe they would have beaten the Indiana Pacers in the year 2000, the year they went to the finals. I don’t believe they could have won Kobe and Shaq (Los Angeles Lakers). They were young and fresh and Shaq was just a monster entering into his prime.” In the last episode of the “Last Dance” Jordan also expressed an opinion that the Bulls leaders could have stayed one more season, if the GM Jerry Krause did not start the ‘rebuild’ talks before the season.  Earlier, before the 1997/98 campaign Krause announced Phil Jackson wouldn't remain the Bulls head coach, which made Jordan, Pippen and others decide to leave the team.
