Wolff: “Contract decision isn't just about 2020 season but about 'looking ahead'”

Toto Wolff is keeping his powder dry during the 2019 Formula 1 season as Mercedes look to plan ahead. Esteban Ocon remains sat at the back of the team garage after missing out on a seat in 2019. Wolff put some lights on his future and said, that Mercedes might have to lose Ocon if they opt for another couple of seasons with Valtteri Bottas.  "I think it is difficult to announce drivers so early anyway. If you really want to do well, then you take the time for it. It is not just a matter of next year for us, but also looking to the future. That is why the focus is now on an announcement in August," Wolff said.
