Why Takumi Minamino was subbed off during Southampton defeat to Brighton

Southampton suffered a 2-1 defeat to Brighton on Sunday in the Premier League. Che Adams scored the only goal for the Saints as Lewis Dunk and Leandro Trossard got their names on the scoresheet for Brighton. Takumi Minamino, who joined Southampton on loan from Liverpool, started from the first minutes, however, was replaced at the 65th minute. Following the game,  Ralph Hasenhuttl spoke out on why Minamino was substituted off. Speaking to Hampshire Live, Hassenhuttl said: "It is difficult for him now, because the team is not in the best shape. "He always shows his quality on the ball, but against Brighton he did not have the biggest impact on the game, this is why I chose to substitute him and bring a fresh player on for him." He continued: "We must have a look. I am happy he is here. He has scored two important goals for us so far and hopefully, he does that a few more times." During this season,  Minamino has so far scored two goals for the Saints in his 6 Premier League appearances.   source - LiverpoolECHO / Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
