Chelsea attacker Mason Mount received some boos from the Southampton fans in the Carabao Cup victory on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old started on the bench for this one as Kai Havertz gave the hosts the lead in the final minute of the first half.
The full-time ended with a 1-1 draw and Mount was brought on as Chelsea pushed for a winner but the game would go to penalties.
He received a raucous reception from the home fans but a smattering of boos as well, the latter of which came from the visiting Southampton fans.
So here is why.
Mount was born and raised in Portsmouth, even he was undergoing trials at Fratton Park, before joining the Blues as a six-year-old.
There is a bitter rivalry between Southampton and Portsmouth, so Mount still receives a frosty reception from the Saints fans, despite never playing for Pompey - though he has admitted to being a boyhood fan of the club.
When his name was read out pre-match, he was booed. When he warmed up in front of the travelling supporters, he was booed - but grinned through the experience.
And when he missed his penalty in the shootout, the away end exploded.
However, Mount and Chelsea are now in the Carabao Cup quarter finals.
