Manchester United celebrated a 2-0 win over Premier League rivals Arsenal in their friendly match in New Jersey.
Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho scored in the first half, securing a morale-boosting triumph for the Red Devils at MetLife Stadium. The Gunners' defensive errors proved costly in the game.
Following the match, a penalty shootout took place, which United won 5-3. Players like Casemiro, Diogo Dalot, Victor Lindelof, Marcus Rashford, and Christian Eriksen successfully converted their spot-kicks, while Fabio Vieira's miss for Arsenal proved decisive.
Both teams had agreed to the shootout before the game, giving their players a chance to practice penalties in front of a full stadium. With the upcoming 2023-24 domestic and European competitions in mind, both Erik ten Hag and Mikel Arteta were keen on their sides getting penalty practice.
Ten Hag's side will have another friendly against Wrexham on Tuesday, while Arsenal are set to face Barcelona on Wednesday as they prepare for the 2023-24 Premier League season.
