What James Maddison proves about Leicester City

Leicester City midfielder James Maddison has proved the club has the tendency to overcome physical mismatches, boss Brendan Rodgers has said. Maddison has already completed as many tackles as he did last campaign, in 11 fewer fixtures. During the first-half of the Wolves 0 - 0 draw, the midfielder ran half length of the pitch to counter-attack and then to reclaim possession, earning applause from Rodgers. The Foxes manager knows that his side doesn't possess the physical attributes to compete with some of their rivals, but believes they are counteracting that with their doggedness. He said: "Our team, people will look at it and they talk about the joy and watching the team play, and how they pass and are creative, but there’s also a fight in this team. You saw at times [against Wolves] there was a mismatch in terms of physicality, at set-pieces and other areas of the pitch, but they showed a mentality to dig in. I think you had James bouncing off Adama [Traore] a couple of times but he was still there to try to nick the ball, win the ball. He fought really hard, but collectively the team did and that was pleasing."
