Liverpool star Naby Keita was left fuming with team-mate Sadio Mane after his challenge on the winger got him booked in a group game at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Senegal played a goalless draw with Guinea in a Group B clash on Thursday.
As both sides were struggling to create goalscoring opportunities, midway through the second half Guinea’ Keita decided to take out his anger on an opposition player. The unlucky recipient just so happened to be Reds colleague Mane, who was playing in the no. 10 role for Senegal.
Keita was clearly taking no risks when it came to Senegal’s most dangerous player, and tracked back at speed before clumsily knocking Mane over from behind.
That earned Keita a fairly harsh yellow card, and the £52m man was clearly outraged to have gone into the referee’s book. Keita even risked more punishment by sarcastically clapping the referee, and gesturing angrily at Mane for going down too easily.
Footage of the incident was shared on the r/LiverpoolFC Reddit feed.
