Anthony Joshua’s first words after the final bell of his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday night have been revealed.
Joshua was outboxed and ultimately dethroned by the Ukrainian, who put on a magnificent performance to make history in London.
The scores were 117-112, 116-112, 115-113, crowning Usyk a two-division king of the world as the former cruiserweight champion took hold of the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles.
After being seriously hurt in round 12, AJ held onto the ropes as he walked back to his corner after the final bell.
The doctor checked him over as he took deep breaths, then his ever-classy opponent approached him.
The 31-year-old opened his eyes and can be seen smiling for the first time since the fight as he spotted Usyk.
He immediately said to his conqueror: “We’re gonna go again?”
“Now I know how to beat you,” and laughed as they embraced.
While Usyk replied:
“Anthony, I watch you Baku.”
