West Ham star Felipe Anderson could join London rivals

Arsenal are reportedly interested in West Ham striker Felipe Anderson, according to Football Insider. After the restart of the Premier League season, the Brazilian has lost his place in the starting line-up and his future at the club are unclear. The Gunners source has told Football Insider that Mikel Arteta is a big admirer of Anderson and is looking at him as a top target. The Gunners believe that West Ham’s desire to offload senior stars to raise cash gives them a chance of luring the wide forward. West Ham are looking to cash in on Anderson following the devastating financial impact of the pandemic. They paid a then club-record £36million rising to £42m for Anderson to sign him from Lazio two years ago. They want to recoup much of that fee. Anderson flew out to Italy earlier this month to discuss a potential return to Lazio but no deal has been agreed. In his debut season for West Ham, the 27-year-old scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 40 games. However, Anderson scored just once and assisted five times from 27 appearances in all competitions in 2019-20.
