West Ham set sights on a Spanish World cup winner

West Ham United have set sights on World Cup winner Paulo Dybala, according to La Roma 24.

Dybala, currently playing at Roma, has a €12m release clause for clubs that are outside of Serie A, which is valid until the end of July. The 29-year-old's contract with the Italian side is set to expire in the summer of 2025.

Given the interest of Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham for the Argentine ace, West Ham might add striker Gianluca Scamacca to their proposal for Dybala. The Italian Hammer is believed to be keen on a move to his homeland and to Roma, specifically. The Giallorossi, however, are likely to offer him a loan deal at best.

Acquiring a top-class midfielder will be a vital task for the English club, as they brace themselves for the departure of club captain and star Declan Rice. The Englishman's record-breaking deal with Arsenal is expected to be sealed and announced very soon. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Rice will pass his medicals for the Gunners on July 7.
