Wesley Fofana shared a hilarious story on how Jamie Vardy welcomed him to Leicester City in 2020.
The Foxes signed Fofana from Saint-Etienne for £36.5 million last year (
Guardian). Brendan Rodgers’ side beat West Ham United for his signature, and the Frenchman became a key player for them.
Speaking to
ActuFoot on Twitter Spaces on Wednesday, Fofana was asked about how he was welcomed at Leicester and he shared a hilarious story that involved Vardy. The 20-year-old said:
“My first training session in Leicester. Vardy comes in two-footed and takes me out.
“He gets up, laughs and says: ‘Welcome to England.’
“I said to myself ‘these guys are crazy!'”
A two-footed tackle in his very first training session at Leicester was definitely something Fofana didn't expected, but that’s what he got.
Fofana hasn’t played a game this season and he is still a few weeks away from full fitness. He revealed last night that he’s hoping to be back by the end of December and that would be a huge boost for Rodgers and his Foxes side.
