Football London reporter Alasdair Gold has confirmed Tottenham's interest in Torino striker Andrea Belotti.
The 26-year-old has been linked with Spurs in recent weeks, with the club boss Jose Mourinho looking for a new striker to improve the squad. The forward has been impressive with his current side, since joining the Serie A club back in 2015. He has scored 92 goals in 192 appearances (per
Transfermarkt).
And speaking about Tottenham's pursuit of Belotti on the latest video for his YouTube channel, Gold said:
“Andrea Belotti: 26-year-old, Torino captain, scored 22 goals last season. He ticks a lot of boxes, [fits] the mentality that Spurs want, he’s a captain. I do think with him, we’re talking big money, though.
“Torino don’t want to let him go whatsoever, and I think if Spurs are going to do that, they’re going to have to put some money down first for a loan, and then I reckon with a guarantee to buy at the end of, say, next season. But he’s another one they’re looking at.”
