"We don’t have space for Vettel" says Aston Martin team boss

Sebastian Vettel’s options for 2021 are rapidly narrowing after Red Bull said it was a “definite no” to the German returning. Aston Martin, meanwhile, has said it has no room for the four-time Formula 1 World Champion. Vettel has been left without a seat after Ferrari chose not to offer him a new contract. The German has said he will look for a seat elsewhere. “I think Racing Point made a very strong impression, and are certainly in a good place for this year,” Vettel said of the team this week. “It’s obviously a good opportunity for them this year to have a good car to fight with and try and improve from there.” However, the first two options are no longer open. “It is flattering that everyone thinks a four-time world champion should come to our team, but maybe that’s because the car is a bit quicker now,” said Racing Point team boss Otmar Szafnauer. “But we have long contracts with both of our drivers, so it would only be logical that we don’t have space.” Source: motorsportweek
