Wayne Rooney names the two contenders to become next Manchester United manager

Wayne Rooney has revealed his opinion on who will take Mancheser United permanent manager’s position. According to the former Manchester United record goalscorer, it will be either Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or Mauricio Pochettino. The current caretaker was thought to be a short-term appointment, but his results and team’s performances showed that he may stay at his former club for long. Rooney says it would be ‘nice’ to see Solskjaer given the job on a full-time basis but admits he would also have faith in Pochettino bringing success to the Theatre of Dreams. The former Manchester United and England captain told CNN: "Ole’s a fantastic person. I think, the club will have a decision to make at the end of the season, and it’d be nice to see if Ole’s going to continue with this form, and get a shot at the job on the payment basis. But if not, if the club go to choose from somewhere else, then I think in my opinion Pochettino would be the right guy." The 33-year-old left England last year to join MLS side DC United but says he still has the ‘quality’ to play in the Premier League. He added: "If I’m being honest, I know quality wise, I can still play in the Premier League. I know that. I’ve always been a confident person, and so I have high expectations of myself."
