WATCH: VBET ambassador Brian Hughes named Jump Jockey of the Year

  VBET ambassador Brian Hughes was proud and humble in equal measure after being named as Jump Jockey of the Year at the 2020 Lesters Awards. Hughes had never won the coveted prize at horse racing’s equivalent of the Oscars. But after having finished last season as champion jockey, the North Yorkshire-based rider was recognised by his colleagues as a deserving winner.

        He told Sky Sports Racing: "I’m very thankful for everyone who voted for me. “These awards are voted by fellow jockeys and I’m massively appreciative. “They’re hard to come by, these awards, so I’m very grateful. “It’s a dream (to be champion jockey). You never dared believe to be in this position.  “It’s been a long, hard road to get here and I appreciate the fact that I am here now.”
