Michail Antonio has admitted that he was considering retirement at one point due to his injury problems.
The West Ham striker had some hamstring issues a few years ago, but he luckily managed to overcome them.
However, now it seems that those injuries could've affected the player's career.
Speaking on the
Footballer’s Football Podcast, Antonio revealed how 'frustrated' he was then.
“The frustration, I just wanted to leave the stadium, I didn’t want to be around football." said the 28-year-old
"My mind was completely gone, I was talking about retirement and all sorts, because it was constantly happening and it was a constant repeat.
"In my head I was saying ‘I don’t want to play football anymore, I just want to retire.’
"But it’s important to be able to step away from the training ground and not seeing the boys or watching the boys train when you know you can’t train, it’s definitely one of the most difficult things to be injured and not be involved."
