Liverpool fans had to spend another nervous evening watching their team’s game at St. James Park Stadium against Newcastle United.
Virgil Van Dijk and Mo Salah scored in the first half, but Newcastle always had their answer, when Christian Atsu and Salomon Rondon equalized.
Mohamed Salah got injured in the second half and it seemed the title race’s over, when Liverpool got a free-kick 5 minutes before the stoppage time.
Trent Alexander-Arnold was supposed to cross the ball into the edge off the box, but Virgil Van Dijk told Xherdan Shaqiri to replace Trent.
And Dutchman’s decision helped Liverpool to score the vital late goal to keep being alive in title race with only 1 match remaining against Wolves at Anfield Road.
😱Magic Moment when @VirgilvDijk tell @XS_11official to take inswing freekick instead of @trentaa98 . What a goal @DivockOrigi . @LFC #lfc #NEWLIV #Liverpool #liverpoolfc #YNWA pic.twitter.com/uXxKFrLp1f
