Liverpool have equalled their all-time longest unbeaten run in the top division of 31 games- 26 wins, 5 draws.
The record was originally set by Kenny Dalglish’s team between May 1987 and March 1988.
Yet Virgil van Dijk believes Liverpool must get better.
“We know we can do maybe that extra 10 per cent. We know we can play better,” said Van Dijk.
“I think if you look at the way we play and the quality we have we could do a little bit better,” he conceded.
“That is something for us to look at. We will. We know we can play a little bit better than we do, but we win games and that at the end of the day is what it is all about. The good thing is that we know we can improve and will try and do it elsewhere.
“The (lack of clean sheets) annoys me. We want to improve but if you are going to look at negatives…it is a negative to be fair. We are winning games, so we shouldn’t look too much at it, but as a defence we know we can do a lot better, especially with the clean sheets.”
