Virgil van Dijk has revealed Jordan Henderson played a big part in his move to Liverpool in his tribute to the captain as Henderson is celebrating 10 years with the Reds.
Van Dijk signed for the Reds back in 2018 from Southampton and became a key player for them. During this season the defender made just 8 appearances as he suffered an ACL injury which kept him out of the whole season.
“Jordan is a great guy, a good human being, a fantastic player, a great captain for the club, a leader,” Van Dijk told
Liverpoolfc.com.
“[I have] only positive and good words for him. I had a good relationship with him [before signing for Liverpool].
“We were sharing the same agent before I joined the club so we were already in contact then and it helped me a lot to make the decision to come to the club as well, so big credit to him!”
