Virgil van Dijk reveals Liverpool’s plans to stop Lionel Messi

Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk has revealed what his side need to do to stop Lionel Messi. The Reds will face Barcelona in their Champions League semi-finals after seeing off Porto in their quarter-final second leg tie on Wednesday. Messi’s side, meanwhile, scored 4 goals against Manchester United to secure their place in the last four. “I don’t know, we’ll see. It’s going to be a great match-up for all of us," Van Dijk told Viasport Fotball. "It’s about doing it all together, it’s never 1vs1, it’s never just me against a particular striker. It’s always us against everyone and I think that’s the only way we can defend well.  And it’s going to be very hard and I think he’s the best player in the world but we’ll see."
