Virgil van Dijk has provided an update on the potential injury scare during the Netherlands' Thursday's game vs Turkey.
The Ons Oranje picked up a thrashing 6-1 win over Turkey, however, van Dijk, who was captaining the team, was sent up in the air after a strong tackle after he attempted to receive an under-hit, casual pass from his goalkeeper Justin Bijlow.
Fortunately, the Liverpool defender has already made it clear the problem is nothing more than an impact injury.
"I’m fine, luckily. I’m already over it," van Dijk said after the game.
“Maybe because I am so big, they think I am acting."
And when quizzed what he meant by the remark, van Dijk clarified:
"Because when I go down, it goes in quite a slow way."
The Netherlands have completed their World Cup qualifiers and the players will be set to return from the international break.
