Virgil van Dijk has sent "wonderful" gift to Liverpool newcomer Ozan Kabak

Virgil van Dijk has sent a "wonderful" gift to new Liverpool signing Ozan Kabak, who completed the move to the Merseyside on transfer deadline day. Reds currently suffer major defender crisis, as van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are injured and are not expected to return any soon. On transfer deadline day Liverpool completed loan signings of two defenders: Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak. The latter named Van Dijk as his inspiration in an interview earlier this year, saying: "My personal aim is to become a top defender in maybe two or three years, like Virgil van Dijk. "He's my idol, I really like him. I like his style and how he plays, so I can say he's my football idol." And all the way back in 2018 he was clearly over the moon to receive a signed Van Dijk shirt while he was still at Turkish side Galatasaray. Kabak posted a picture of himself holding up the gift on his Instagram, along with the caption: "Many thanks to @virgilvandijk, one of the best central defenders of the planet, for this wonderful gift."
