Victor Lindelof sends title message to Manchester United teammates after Leeds win

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has urged his team-mates to block out all talk of a title challenge despite admitting confidence was growing within the squad. Lindelof was one of the goalscorers during United's 6-2 win over Leeds United on Sunday. With the win, the Red Devils climbed to 3rd place in the Premier League table and are 5 points behind league leaders, Liverpool, with a game in hand. “The most important thing for us is that we’re focusing on one game at a time and that’s what we’ve been doing lately,” said Lindelof. “I think we have been performing well and also we have got some good results. “The main thing for us is just to keep working hard, keep focusing on the next game and that’s the thing. “But obviously when you win games you gain more confidence and that's what we've been doing lately.” “Especially in the second half against Leeds, we showed again the right mentality to keep on doing the things we know we can do,” he said. "I am very pleased with the performance and the mentality as always was amazing today as well.” United will now face Everton in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, December 23. “At this club you always want to win stuff so it’s an important game coming up on Wednesday for us. Games come quick now so you just have to do the recovery right and be prepared for every game, he added. “But I think the depth we have in the squad is also very important for us going into this period of games. “But, like I say, we want to win things, obviously, and every opportunity we get we want to win and to improve. “We’re on a good run now, we’ve been performing well on the pitch, so hopefully we can just keep on going because we know, in this period, there’s a lot of games.” “Games are coming up quick and I don't think every player is able to play every minute of every game," Lindelof concluded. “That is very important for us to have players who, if they didn't play in one game, are ready for the next.” source - Express / Join us on Telegram
