Verstappen admits interlagos won’t suit RB14, but hasn’t rules out positive result

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has some very fond memories of Brazil as he arguably had the most spectacular race of his career at Interlagos in 2016, and the Dutchman praised the local fans ahead of this years' edition. Verstappen heads to the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend in a similar fashion as last year, having won last year’s Mexican Grand Prix before heading to Brazil where he finished in fifth place. The 21-year-old Dutch driver has noted that the RB14 won’t suit around the 2.6-mile circuit but has stated that anything can happen in Brazil. “In general Interlagos doesn’t suit our car that well, but after finishing on the podium there in 2016 and winning last week in Mexico, anything can happen in the race,” said Verstappen “I’ve had some great battles and overtakes there and I’m hoping for another exciting race.” "Anything can happen in the race," Verstappen hints to FormulaPassion. Verstappen also took a moment to praise the Brazilian fans, which he claims he can hear from inside of his cockpit when he's on the grid. "The fans are very loud and as the starting grid is very close to the stands, you can hear them yelling while you're in the car on the grid. “The food in Brazil is really good and the Churrascaria restaurants have amazing grilled meat. “Although it’s nearly the end of the season I still have to be careful what I eat in order to stay in shape, which is a shame as I would like to enjoy the local cuisine even more.”
