Vardan Minasyan reveales Armenia national team's problems and prospects in press conference

Armenia National Team head coach Vardan Minasyan had a press- conference about friendly matches, training sessions and the squad. "What problems we want to solve? Well, first of all, we want to bring our philosophy in: How we’ll work on the pitch, to what shall we rely on, taking into account our weak and strong sides. We also tried to solve another problem. We planned to check 2 new game schemes with interaction of the players during the match. “Our third problem referred to the newcomers. Yes, there were players who have played for the national team in recent 3-4 years but I didn’t know them as I only watched them playing for the national team or clubs. “What refers to the matches, I’ll explain why  we couldn’t succeed always. The match was divided into episodes. During the first 30 minutes of the match against Malta we saw the football we had hoped to see during training. There were also episodes when the team was playing in a proper way but we failed to reach the goal to play our game during all the 90minutes. “I called 31 players to the national team and many of them had training. Now we’ll hope that they’ll improve their game until Autumn and the squad will become much more combative. Now there’s an issue with the goalkeeper but we hope that Manukyan will soon recover from injury. Aivazov accepted the offer to join the team but couldn’t play because of his exams but here’s still a hope that Yurchenko will join us. We also have a little problem with our left defender as there’s a shortage of defenders. "The team have to reach to their maximum in Nation’s League. If everything goes well we’ll play 8 matches in the tournament that will turn into 8 little finals for us. All the matches will be played for one goal- to win and only win as it’s the tournament where even a draw can cause big problems,” the manager concluded.
