USMNT coach issues Christian Pulisic update

United States head coach Gregg Berhalter has poured cold water on the theory that Christian Pulisic's injury problems should be a long-term concern for Chelsea. Berhalter insisted that the 22-year-old is simply still adapting to English football. Pulisic has joined up with his international team-mates this week despite missing Chelsea's past three games because of a hamstring issue. He has suffered from a number of muscle issues throughout his career. But Berhalter, who has described Pulisic as "day-to-day" ahead of friendlies against Wales tomorrow night and Panama next week, believes it is merely a case of his star player needing more time to get used to the demands of English football. "I really see it as a young player who is just adapting to the demands of a different game, a different schedule," Berhalter told ESPN. "When you get injured, when you have a muscle injury, it takes you a while to get fully fit and recover and this is part of his recovery process. I have no doubt that he’s going to be a player that is fit for a very long period of time when he gets through this period."
