Unai Emery urged to sell Mesut Ozil to bring in four Arsenal transfers

Arsenal head coach Unai Emery has been urged by former striker Kevin Campbell to sell Mesut Ozil. The 49-year-old pundit thinks it’s the right time to sell the £350,000-a-week German and fund for new transfers. "If it was up to me, he’d be gone," he said. “I don’t think he can contribute enough to Arsenal. With the set-up and the way the Premier League is going, I don’t think he does enough. “Is he a wonderfully gifted player? Of course he is. But the way his talent is going, he doesn’t do enough for me. “On his wage, that could bring in four players. And it might be four versatile players. “On one person’s wage you get four opportunities to improve the squad, that must take priority. “More functional players get the better of Arsenal and are undoing them. “That should never undo Arsenal because the club should have that in abundance. “Arsenal haven’t had that type of player in recent years and they need to get that back.” Martin Keown also wrote in his Daily Mail column after their sorry 3-0 loss at Leicester City. "It no longer matters who Arsenal play away from home - when the Gunners leave the Emirates, their opponents view them as little more than cannon fodder," he said. "This latest surrender at Leicester was Arsenal's eighth defeat on the road this season. Of their 37 away trips over the past two campaigns they have lost 19, drawn eight and have won just 10. "That record is embarrassing. At the very least, teams know that if they can dig in against Arsenal and stay in the game for long enough, at some point they will collapse. "When you go down to ten men, you have to adopt a siege mentality. You might not win the game but you certainly are not going to lose. Arsenal used to have that reputation. "They remain the only team in Premier League history to have won more games with ten men than they have lost." Arsenal have already cut the squad’s wage bill ahead of next season by offloading Aaron Ramsey, who is set to sign a lucrative contract with Juventus. Premier League legend Petr Cech will also retire at the end of the current campaign, while Danny Welbeck is expected to leave when his contract expires.
