The 2024/25 UEFA Champions League campaign will kick off on Tuesday, September 17, with a new format from now on.
For the first time in the tournament's history, 36 teams will participate in a new ‘league phase’ instead of the traditional group stage.
Under this new Swiss model, all of the clubs are about to have seven opponents and will be ranked in a 36-team table as per their performances.
The top eight teams will reach straight to the round of 16, while teams finishing 9th to 16th will be seeded for a playoff round against the 17th to 24th ranked team.
As the matchday one is around the corner, the exact dates have been released. The fixtures are set to be played in three nights: Tuesday, September 17, Wednesday, September 18, and Thursday, September 19.
