Trent Alexander-Arnold has revealed whom he will be supporting in the Manchester derby

The Manchester derby is not only important for United and City but also for Liverpool as they are currently in a tough title race with Manchester City. Ahead of the crucial derby, Liverpool youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold has revealed that he will hope United will do the Reds a favour. “It’s rare that you get these seasons. We’ve worked really hard with the foundations, kept quite a lot of clean sheets," said Trent Alexander. “It’s important for us to keep up the momentum. It’s not about how many points we’ve got now, it’s about how many we can end up with and put the pressure back on City. “Hopefully United will do us a favour.” Asked if he could bring himself to support United on Wednesday, Alexander-Arnold responded: “Er... it’s a funny one. At this stage of the season you sometimes need to support someone you wouldn’t normally like. “For our ambitions and goals we do need a team to do us a favour somewhere along the line. “On Saturday we all supported Tottenham and on Wednesday the majority of Liverpool fans I think will want United to get a win. “I probably will watch it. I don’t know if there are any other games on. It’s exciting but you try not to get too caught up in hoping that City lose.”
