Transfer update: Unai Emery identifies FIVE summer signings with Bayern and Barca stars top of his list

Arsenal head coach Unai Emery is hoping to challenge for the Premier League and is looking strengthen his squad by adding as many as five new signings. According to The Independent, Emery has prioritised strengthening his defence and wants a new centre-back – with Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti the club’s top target. Bayern Munich left-back David Alaba is also on Arsenal’s list of targets The Austrian, who has been a mainstay at the Allianz Arena, recently admitted that he was an Arsenal fan when growing up and would be open to joining the Gunners. However, neither player will come cheap if Arsenal do not qualify for the Champions League – if that happens Emery would only be given a £35m budget.
