Tottenham are set to splash £35million to land Nicolo Barella as a replacement for Mousa Dembele, who sustained ankle injury during 3-2 win over Wolves.
Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino is hopeful that Cagliari will sell highly-rated Barella, but the Spurs will face competition from Liverpool.
In September Liverpool were due to bring the player – tipped the “next Steven Gerrard” in Italy – to Premier League so it won’t be easy for Tottenham to sign the deal.
Earlier in his interview Barella told Gazzetta dello Sport about his future intentions and dreams as well as revealed offers from abroad. “Cagliari received offers and turned them down. I am happy to have remained with the club I support.
“My dream is to get a nice house with a garden and a pool. And to meet LeBron James,” he said.
