Tottenham release statement in response to Harry Kane exit request

Tottenham Hotspur have released a statement in response to reports claiming Harry Kane wants to leave this summer. The 27-year-old striker's rumoured desire to move on from north London has been reported for several months, however on Monday the story was firmed up by several sources as the England captain has seemingly reached the end of his tether. As  Spurs are pretty much out of contention for a top four finish after a disappointing season which has seen the sacking of Jose Mourinho, an embarrassing exit in the Europa League and defeat in the Carabao Cup final, Kane has let it be known that he would wish to move on at the end of the season, and potentially even before this summer's European Championships. And on Monday night the club released a brief statement, declaring simply that: "We won’t be commenting – our focus is on finishing the season as strongly as possible. That’s what everyone should be focused on." Spurs are set to face Aston Villa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday - when fans will be in attendance - before rounding off their season away at Leicester City on Sunday.
