Tottenham’s Son Heung-min has been nominated for the 2019 AFC Asian International Player of the Year.
The South Korean winger has already been included on the shortlist for the Ballon d’Or and is the first Asian player to be nominated in 12 years.
Son has won the AFC award twice in 2015 and 2017. He is nominated alongside Iranian forward Sardar Azmoun and Japanese midfielder Makoto Hasebe.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in Hong Kong On December 2.
