Tottenham's Colombian defender Davinson Sanchez has decided to depart from the club.
With still a year left on his contract with the English club, Sanchez's agents have informed the Spurs that the 27-year-old wishes to leave the team and possibly the whole Premier League too. According to The Mail, the center-back is seeking news opportunities in another league, which is yet to be revealed. It seems that Ange Postecoglou's side will have to sell the player.
Upon his arrival in 2017, the player has made over 200 appearances for the Spurs, contributing to the squad's defense system. Before arriving at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Sanchez played in the Colombian Atletico Nacional and the Dutch club Ajax.
It can be inferred that the English fans' and pundits' strong criticism has also contributed to the defender's decision. TalkSPORT's journalist Gabby Agbonlahor, for instance, included Sanchez in his team of Premier League flops in the 2022/23 season, stating "Every game I've watched him, he's had a mistake".
