Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino was handed “blessing in disguise” as he isn’t able to pick Serge Aurier for Saturday’s match against Brighton, claims Danny Mills.
In his exclusive interview with Football insider, former Manchester City and England defender says:
“He’s (Serge Aurier) suspended so it’s an opportunity for whoever comes in. Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise for Pochettino that he doesn’t have to drop him, he doesn’t have to take him out of the team. I’m sure there’s a part of Pochettino that’s thinking: ‘Right, whoever I play at right-back, please have a good game. Have a good game and if you do, you can stay in after the international break.’ It makes him that little bit easier for him to handle.”
Spurs manager has used three right-backs during the season, with Kyle Walker-Peters and Davinson Sanchez starting while the Ivorian is out.
