Tottenham midfielder claims time away from the club is like a breath of fresh air

Tottenham midfielder Jack Roles admits his time away from the club is like a breath of fresh air. During the summer the 20-year-old was sent out on to League Two side Cambridge United until January and have already made a positive impression. In an interview with Cambridge News, Roles said, “I’m loving it so far. Everyone who I talk to always asks if I’m enjoying it and I always say ‘yeah, it’s refreshing’. Because I’ve been at Tottenham since I was so young, it’s all I’ve really known. Since I’ve come here, it’s been like a breath of fresh air and something different. It’s refreshing and I’m loving it. When I get picked it’s always like ‘oh, I’m starting!’, and it’s a real confidence booster. Then I’ve got to do what I can do to help the team, and when we’re winning 4-0 against Exeter it’s just a huge bonus to everyone and it always feels better.” Roles has been impressing over the past couple of seasons in the Spurs academy and was among young players who were part of the club’s pre-season tour of the Far East.
