Tottenham have made contact with Ajax in a bid to sign midfielder Donny van de Beek, according to Sport. Barcelona have been linked with a move for the 23-year-old while Manchester United are also in the race to sign Van de Beek. Any potential suitor will have to pay a mighty £49m for his services. Van de Beek registered 11 assists in 2019/20, laying on 1.8 key passes per match. Coincidentally, that tally is better than anyone in the current Tottenham squad. For context, Heung-Min Son comes out on top with 1.4 key passes an outing. Discussing the Dutchman, Frank de Boer stated: "Dennis [Bergkamp] started talking enthusiastically about a talent in his youth team. It was a boy who reminded Dennis of himself at that age. That was the signal for me to keep an eye on that guy. That was Donny [van de Beek]." However, according to Sport, Van de Beek has told his teammates that he will be joining Manchester United.
