Tottenham Hotspur transfer stance on Manchester United player Nemanja Matic revealed

Tottenham Hotspur have no intention to sign Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic in the January transfer window. Recently the 31-year-old has revealed he is open to leaving Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho's appointment as the Spurs' manager rose the speculation over the Serbian internationals' possible move. Matic joined the Red Devils from Chelsea for £35million rising to £40m just over two years ago and was a regular in his first two seasons, playing in 63 league matches out of 76. Now, as the midfielder recently returned from a six-week injury, he is concerned about his lack of playing time. His contract expires at the end of the season, and if United decide not to sell him during the winter transfer window, Matic could be released in the summer. The Serbian international liked the idea of joining Tottenham, that now is in charge of his former boss Mourinho. He liked an Instagram picture accompanied by the caption "Matic waiting for January so Jose Mourinho can sign him", commenting with clapping and crying with laughter emojis. However, MEN understands Mourinho has no intention to add Matic to his playing squad, as the Spurs' boss has Harry Winks, Eric Dier, Moussa Sissoko, Tanguy Ndombole and Victor Wanyama available for the central midfield.
