Tottenham handed major transfer boost in pursuit of £20m QPR star

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has been handed a major transfer boost in the pursuit of QPR starlet Eberechi Eze. The west London club put a £20million price tag on the midfielder, with both Crystal Palace and Sheffield United dropping out of the race. Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is now the clear favourite to sign the 21-year-old. Spurs have been interested in Eze, as Mourinho looks to make his mark on the Tottenham squad for next season. QPR's first team coach, Neil Banfield had previously revealed that the club would be open to letting some of their top talents leave for £20m. “If the offers come in of £20m and £20m-plus, I don’t think there would be many clubs that could turn that down," Banfield told West London Sport. “We don’t want them to leave. We’d want them to stay at the club, get the club promoted and play in the Premier League for the Rangers. We’d love to get promoted and play with Ebs, Ilias (Chair) and Brighty (Bright Osayi-Samuel), but I think you’ve got to be realistic.
