A number of Tottenham fans want the club to take a punt on Troy Deeney this summer after Watford’s relegation from the Premier League. Watford’s 3-2 defeat against Arsenal in their final game of the season and Aston Villa’s point against West Ham sealed the Hornett’s Championship fate this year.
The 32-year-old was quite emotional after the final whistle, having spent ten long years at Vicarage Road. Deeney has proven himself to be a handful for Premier League defences, although his performances have dropped off a bit in the past couple of seasons.
Year of ups & downs which ultimately ended in disappointment for everybody at the club 🙃 @hdgomes it’s been a pleasure working with you my friend, enjoy retirement ❤️ as for the rest of you that have waited years to hammer me the comments are coming in 3,2,1… #blacklivesmatter pic.twitter.com/8JQ2PeWMUq

However, some Spurs fans are convinced that the experienced striker would be a good fit for the way Jose Mourinho wants to play. They claimed that Deeney could serve as a useful backup up to Harry Kane.
