Tottenham enter transfer market to find Harry Kane replacement: Two players are on radar

Tottenham are looking for a replacement for Harry Kane, as the England international faces a lengthy injury lay-off. Kane suffered a serious setback on New Year’s Day, as he limped off the field during Spurs’ defeat to Southampton. On Thursday, Spurs confirmed that Kane will need surgery and will miss at least three months of action. Troy Parrot replaced Kane during the win over Burnley, however, it does not look like the 17-year-old is going to benefit from Kane’s injury setback. Spurs’ boss Jose Mourinho was asked about the club’s attempts to sign anyone to replace Kane and he said: “We have what we have. That’s the squad that started pre-season, that’s the squad we have for the season. Again everybody knows the importance of Harry in the squad. I think irreplaceable, if you think about one player by one player, I think he’s irreplaceable. But we have to try solutions with the players we have." Despite Mourinho’s comments, rumours are bound that Tottenham could make a move to replace the England captain. According to Goal, Lyon’s Moussa Dembele is on Spurs’ radar. The striker has long been linked with a move to Chelsea, as he leads the scoring charts for his side with 10 league goals. However, Lyon president has already made clear that they are not interested in a January sale. "L'Olympique Lyonnais are aware of certain reports in the media which suggest that Moussa Dembele could be of interest to other clubs during this transfer period," the club explained in a statement released January 2.  "L'OL would like to reaffirm their wish, just as in the 2019 summer window, to keep Moussa Dembele. The club has total confidence in Moussa and counts on him to form part of a competitive team for seasons to come."  Meanwhile, the Guardian is reporting that Spurs are interested in AC Milan’s Krzysztof Piatek. The Polish striker has scored just four goals this season. AC Milan would want a fee in the region of £30million for the player. Gianluca Di Marzio claims, Tottenham made a loan offer for Piatek, but AC Milan rejected the bid. Spurs then made a permanent offer which included Juan Foyth and Victor Wanyama. But no deal has been agreed to as of yet. Source- Goal, Football.london Join us on Telegram
