Toto Wolff: "I'm sure Bottas will be hungry"

Mercedes team chief Toto Wolff believes Valtteri Bottas will be desperate to claim the victory this weekend in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Last year, Bottas looked as though he would cruise to race victory after a late safety car until a bizarre puncture handed the win to his teammate Lewis Hamilton. Wolff is confident Bottas will do everything to clinch the title 12 months later. “Valtteri drove a strong race last year but a puncture denied him a well-deserved victory shortly before the end,” said Wolff. “He’s had a good start to this season and I’m sure he will be hungry to go for the points he didn’t get last year.” But Wolff knows, Hamilton will not give up easily. “Unlike last year, Lewis heads to Baku leading the Championship and will undoubtedly be looking to repeat his win from 2018,” said Wolff. The race will take place on Sunday, April 28 in Baku City Circuit.
