Toto Wolff confirms Sebastian Vettel talks over 2021 F1 seat

Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel will leave his team at the end of the season. He is now in talks with Racing Point over a seat for the 2021 campaign. Next year the team become Aston Martin and Mercedes chief Toto Wolff has shares in the company. Vettel will not be going to the reigning world champions but Wolff has confirmed the German is in talks with Aston Martin. “I know that discussions are ongoing,” Wolff told the Osterreich newspaper. “It is not easy to replace Checo Perez with Vettel because he is an important and positive part of the team. But from an Aston Martin perspective, it would be a huge coup. Germany is the second most important market for Aston Martin. But I don’t want to talk the team into making this decision.” Wolff previously denied having any involvement in Vettel’s talks with Racing Point as he is a shareholder with Aston Martin.
