Tony Cascarino has urged Tottenham to go for Manchester City defender, Aymeric Laporte.
Spurs star Harry Kane has been linked with the move away from the North London club, while Laporte has already been mentioned in a potential swap deal that could see Kane joining Pep Guardiola’s side.
As the Lilywhites are looking for a centre-back this summer, Cascarino thinks Laporte is a “top centre-half” and could be a good addition Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.
“If I am Tottenham then I am trying to get Laporte,” Cascarino said on talkSPORT Weekend Breakfast.
“Whether he would go to Tottenham because you never know where a player wants to go to?
“But if they lose Harry Kane. They need that type of centre-half. Laporte is a top centre-half, for me.
“If they can get him in, and he would want to go, then it would be a great signing for them. They need somebody like that.”
