Super League celebrates its 25th season this year, and as it is still halted due to the Covid-19 crisis, let's check out the best hookers this season.
5) Michael McIlorum, Catalans Dragons

McIlorum made a decision to leave Wigan, which surprised many. However, he has been fantastic in the South of France over the last few seasons. The Leeds-born hooker remains a candidate for England selection after his impressive start to 2020 for Catalans.
4) Brad Dwyer, Leeds Rhinos

Dwyer has arguably been the Rhinos best player in 2019 and has continued his fine form early on in this campaign and would have cherished his performance, try and victory over former club Warrington. He has made a home for himself at Headingley and is now excelling in a winning team.
3) James Roby, St Helens

The 34-year-old Roby is showing no signs of slowing down after 15 being years at the top. The former Man of Steel is perhaps the greatest hooker Super League has ever seen, and as his career reaches its climax, he looks likely to bow out at the top. Roby will play a key role again when the season resumes, after being essential in Saints dominance last year.
2) Paul McShane, Castleford Tigers

McShane is certainly Castleford’s most consistent player of the last five years. He makes breaks, tackles fearlessly and is the ultimate competitor. The Tigers young half-back pairing have received most of the credit for their superb start this season, but McShane’s creativity and control around the ruck has played a major part as well.
1) Daryl Clark, Warrington Wolves

Clark is arguably the best no.9 in Super League despite injuries, that have hampered his start to 2020. The 2019 Lance Todd winner is fast, direct and can change the momentum of a game in an instant. When the league resumes this season, Clark will surely lead Warrington’s assault on that elusive Super League title.
