Following Mauricio Pochettino's exit from Stamford Bridge, new candidates have been discussed to take over the Argentine coach at the London club.
Chelsea fans have been left disappointed after their hopes of new manager Mauricio Pochettino's arrival were let down. The start of the season has been a disaster for the Blues, as they have only managed to secure one victory in the Premier League so far. Pochettino's team is struggling to score goals, and their performance on the field has been subpar.
Soccergator has examined potential candidates who could replace the Argentine head coach if Chelsea decides to part ways with him, as they did with Graham Potter last season in a rather ruthless manner.
Roberto De Zerbi
One of the top candidates on the list is Roberto De Zerbi, who has been highly impressive as the manager of Brighton. Under his leadership, the Seagulls reached an even higher level of performance compared to when Potter was in charge. However, given the past experience with Potter, Chelsea may be hesitant to repeat the same mistake of poaching a manager from Brighton.

Arne Slot
Arne Slot from Feyenoord is another name in the mix, and he was highly sought after this summer, even being considered a favorite for the Tottenham managerial position at one point. However, he ultimately chose to stay with Feyenoord. Nevertheless, it's likely that a larger club in a more competitive league will come calling for him in the near future.

Hansi Flick
Hansi Flick is also a candidate worth keeping an eye on. He recently left his role as the manager of the German national team. Flick achieved remarkable success, including a Champions League victory, during his tenure with Bayern Munich. It wouldn't be surprising if he garnered interest from another top club, despite his less successful stint with Germany.

Marcelo Gallardo
Marcelo Gallardo might not be a widely recognized name, but he served as the head coach of River Plate for an impressive eight-year tenure. During his final two years in charge in 2021 and 2022 (spanning spring to fall seasons), he played a significant role in the development of the promising talent Enzo Fernández who currently plays at Chelsea. Although the 47-year-old initially left his coaching role at the end of 2022 with the intention of taking a break, it seems he is still open to exploring potential opportunities elsewhere.

Julen Lopetegui
And last but not least, there is Julen Lopetegui. Interestingly, he was recently seen observing a Chelsea match at Stamford Bridge, where the Blues suffered their third defeat in the Premier League this season, while their local rivals, Aston Villa, faced a challenging match against a team with 10 players and managed to secure their fourth win. The Spanish manager, who has been reported to be eagerly awaiting a return to management in the Premier League, was seen entering and later leaving a hospitality suite.
